What is Shockwave + EMTT?
Proven Chronic Pain Treatment Using Storz Medical's Shockwave Technology
Shockwave + EMTT uses Storz Medical's Shockwave Technology as another alternative treatment that can be used very effectively for pain management. Revolutionizing healthcare through non-surgical solutions that treat the root cause, accelerate the healing process, and improve the quality of care we deliver to our patients. This provides a faster, easier, more complete path to healing. It is like getting a view that an MRI or X-ray would tell us to find the root cause of the problem, while you are receiving treatment to fix it. In addition, an MRI or X-ray does not necessarily verify the reason for your pain, as this technology can do.

Proven Treatments Using Storz Medical's Shockwave Technology:
Why This Combination Is Superior
Most clinics offer only one type of technology—often just radial pressure wave under the label of “shockwave." Others offer Focused Shockwave (FSW) but lack the boost of EMTT. PhysioFit Physical Therapy & Wellness has all three, and more importantly, we understand how to use them with our other services.
Our integrated protocol:
- Targets tissue from the surface to the bone
- Combines mechanical, acoustic, and electromagnetic activation
- Enhances healing response in hard-to-treat conditions
- Treats both the pain site and the source of dysfunction
- Achieves outcomes that outperform conventional treatments
The difference? It’s not just the technology itself but the level of knowledge of the clinician doing the treatment. Our layered approach targets healing at every level: soft tissue, tendon, joint, and nerve—delivering results that stick.
Radial Pulse Wave
(RSW/RPW)
Radial Pulse Wave therapy delivers rapid pressure waves across broader, more superficial areas, reaching about 3 to 4 cm deep. It's ideal for muscle tightness, trigger points, and tendon issues like plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow, boosting circulation to jump-start healing in stubborn soft tissue.
Focused Shock Wave
(FSW)
Focused Shock Wave therapy delivers high-energy shockwaves that penetrate up to 12.5 cm, effectively treating deep tissue, joint, bone, and calcification issues. Perfect for anyone with achy localized pain or tightness that exercise and physical therapy (or occupational therapy) can't touch. It's also widely beneficial for addressing pelvic floor problems such as pain, sexual dysfunction, and bladder or bowel issues.
Electromagnetic Transduction Therapy
(EMTT/MTT)
Electromagnetic Transduction Therapy uses electromagnetic fields to penetrate up to 18 cm to treat deep pain and inflammation while facilitating cellular repair of soft tissue, joints, and bones. It effectively addresses fractures, osteoarthritis, herniated discs, carpal tunnel, and pelvic floor issues like pain, sexual dysfunction, and bladder or bowel problems.
Do Shockwave Results Depend on The Provider?
The success rates we talk about are specific to our clinic and the results we have been able to provide our clients through our training and knowledge with this technology.
All too often, we hear people say things like, "Oh, I've had this before," or "I've tried something similar."
Here's what makes PhysioFit different: Our providers have completed advanced specialized training in shockwave therapy that fewer than 1% of practitioners offering this treatment have pursued. This isn't just about owning the equipment—it's about mastering the science behind it.
What does this mean for you?
This advanced training gives our team deeper knowledge of how to use these devices—especially when combining multiple therapies—to achieve faster, more lasting results. We're able to treat complex and chronic pain cases that others may have told you were untreatable without surgery.
Our goal is simple: get you out of pain as quickly as possible, keep you doing what you love, and help you avoid the operating table.
Best Trio for Deep Healing.

How It Works:
- Stimulation of Cellular Processes:
- Advanced healing therapies leverage mechanical, electromagnetic, or biochemical stimuli to activate cellular mechanisms that accelerate healing. For example, Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) uses sound waves, and EMTT (Electromagnetic Transduction Therapy) uses electromagnetic fields to induce biological changes at the cellular level.
- These stimuli encourage cellular regeneration, angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels), and the production of collagen, all of which are essential for tissue repair.
- Targeted Tissue Regeneration:
- The therapy is usually applied to injured or degenerated tissues, such as tendons, ligaments, or bones. The mechanical or electromagnetic forces applied trigger a healing response by activating mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) or enhancing the activity of fibroblasts, which help regenerate damaged tissue.
- Shockwave therapy, for example, produces microtrauma that induces the body’s natural healing response. In contrast, EMTT works on a deeper cellular level by influencing ion channels and enhancing cell membrane permeability, which improves cellular metabolism.
- Non-invasive and Minimally Invasive:
- These therapies are typically non-invasive (like EMTT) or minimally invasive (like PRP injections), making them attractive alternatives to surgery. They are commonly used for chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and even degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis.
In essence, Shockwave + EMTT harness the body's innate capacity for healing by stimulating cellular repair through external forces, making them highly beneficial in fields such as orthopedics, sports medicine, and tissue engineering.

What Our Clients Say
K.
"Today, I started Pilates. It is a true victory that I can do what's required.
I had my right hip replaced in 2013, and my right knee replaced in 2021. They never stopped hurting. The doctors examined the X-rays and MRIs and stated that everything was normal, as it had healed exactly as it should. I wondered then why they hurt so much that I was practically disabled. used a cane or walking stick much of the time, yet was in constant fear of falling. My family was afraid for me, too, because I was so wobbly. I had resigned myself to being in pain for the rest of my life. Not a pretty picture.
PhysioFit is a wellness and healing clinic. After reading several advertisement articles by them, I decided to go there for an evaluation. After all, I had nothing to lose
My therapist said that there was so much scar tissue that it was strangling my muscles, nerves, and veins. With several different kinds of treatment, Shockwave being the biggest, she started breaking up the scar tissue and helping me to stop the bad habits I was doing to compensate for the pain.
I couldn't stand sitting without holding on to something. She helped me gain the strength and ability to do that. She and my physical therapist taught me how to walk again - I walked on the outside of my right foot, trying to compensate for the pain walking caused.
They used treatments, exercises, encouragement, and therapies to enable me to walk and breathe as I hadn't been able to in many years. I had nine regenerative sessions and 6 physical therapy appointments
And now, I mostly walk like a normal person. There is still a little pain once in a while, but I feel much more like a regular person.
I had considered Pilates before, but knew the pain & debilitation from my knee and hip would prevent me from being successful. That's why it is such a big deal that I'm now doing Pilates under the guidance of my therapist.
I will get strong. I will not be in pain for the rest of my life. I'm a happy girl."

"Before I came to PhysioFit, I had a lot of arm problems in my shoulder, and I had a lot of soreness that was keeping me from my full potential on the field. A lot of times, I had to slow my motion down to compensate for elbow pain or shoulder pain. And that's just how I felt before my shockwave therapy. And then after my shockwave therapy, I noticed, even the next day, right after I got on the field, I noticed an instant change. My arm felt brand new, as if I hadn't grown in a couple of weeks. It just completely takes away all soreness and pain from your elbow and shoulder. It's really useful for pictures. It helps you get back on the field quicker with less pain for sure. And it's definitely something I would recommend trying. Because, as I said, literally the next day, my arm felt brand new. Definitely something I highly recommend. I tried a couple of things before I came. Some other physical therapy and stuff. Some recovery, some mobility stretches, and stuff like that. Which is all good, and it all helps. And it doesn't actually help your human process as shockwave does. It actually gets in there, and it helps your tissue and everything regenerate faster. So you'll be able to be on the field the next day without any pain or anything like that."

"I didn't know how Shockwave was going to work because I have had other therapies before shockwave and they really haven't help me much. I was thinking ok if this helps me its good. I've tried acupuncture, cupping, Ive had cortisone injections, and even physical therapy. PhysioFit, after each session I was feeling really good. After some time, I had a little pain return but it was better! Especially my legs. I couldn't lift my legs up, I had no balance, I had to sit own to put my pants on. Now I am able to lift my legs, get in and out of the car easier, and return to gardening! I loved gardening, but, I had to stop because I couldn't bend or I had pain. I'm doing a little bit of gardening now better than before. Anyone wondering if this will help them should try it because it's definitely going to help them.”
