What is physical therapy and will work for me?

will physical therapy work

How to know if physical therapy will work for you.

When was the last time you were filled with doubt but did it anyway?

A couple of months ago, I got an email from Terry, a woman in Los Altos who was worried about finding a solution for her back pain (which had only gotten worse since shelter-in-place).

Bottom line, she wanted to know if physical therapy would work for her.

She felt she had wasted her money in the past trying to find a solution to take away her pain.

I understand her fear.

There are a lot of people and companies out there who are unscrupulous and willing to take your money in exchange for empty promises.

I’m a consumer too and share the same concerns.

The truth is, we don’t DO physical therapy FOR you.

We do physical therapy WITH you.

We provide education, you gain the knowledge. Once you have this knowledge in your pocket, no one can take it from you. We can promise you the following:

  • Hands-on therapy, you give us up to the minute feedback on it’s effectiveness.
  • Walk through of the exercises to ease your pain, while you do them.
  • Create a plan of care for you, you keep your appointments and follow the prescription.

It’s as simple as that.

So what happened to Terry?

After we talked on the phone and set expectations, she shifted her thinking from “Will it work for me?” to “Will we work well together?”

Because of this shift, Terry was able to embrace the journey towards recovery with a growth mindset.

She came in for a complimentary Discovery Visit and scheduled an evaluation that day.

We’ve been working together and she has already started to feel a big improvement. Terry is back to walking her dog Zoey without being in excruciating back pain – a simple pleasure she had given up on.

Don’t waste more time needlessly in pain. The solutions are easier than you think.

Give us a call today to schedule a Discovery Visit and find your answer to “Will we work well together?”
