Each member of the PhysioFit team plays an integral role in who we are and what we do. From Physical Therapists to Pilates Instructors, our team is comprised of highly educated and skilled professionals offering comprehensive specialty physical therapy and wellness programs.  If you are facing mobility challenges or simply want to stay fit, active and healthy, the folks below have solutions. Kim Gladfelter, MPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Executive Director, Physical Therapist and Pilates Instructor

       "He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything."

Every week, for more than a decade, hundreds of people have consulted Kim Gladfelter looking for answers to their debilitating back pain and stiffness. Kim is now a trusted health advisor to doctors and other healthcare providers in the area educating them about how to reduce their back pain in their line of work as needed. Kim decided she wanted to be a physical therapist as a teen when one of her classmates was severely injured and recovered through the use of physical therapy. Nothing is more satisfying to her than knowing she is helping her patients keep doing the meaningful activities they love to do.

Credentials & Teaching Experience:

  • Graduated from UCLA in 1991 with a degree in Kinesiology.
  • Received her Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1994 from Mount Saint Mary’s College.
  • Completed a 1-1/2 year long residency program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 1998.
  • Certified in 2001 as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).
  • Obtained Fellowship status in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). Both certifications (OCS and FAAOMPT) represent recognition of advanced clinical proficiency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy practice.
  • Teaching assistant for a highly regarded year-long course for manual physical therapists from 1999-2001, in addition to taking numerous long and short-term courses on various topics in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
  • Certified Practitioner in Pilates Rehabilitation, including mat and equipment, through Polestar Education. She also has special training in the area of pelvic floor therapy.

TIP: Ask Kim about the time she shaved off half her eyebrow trying to imitate her Dad shaving or when she ran away from a fenced in dog and dislocated her kneecap.

Janet has embraced a life long love of learning, as evidence by her 40+ continuing education classes in physical therapy, and has been thrilled to apply her knowledge over the last 20+ years to clients of all walks of life and backgrounds. She is especially interested in using manual therapy to address orthopedic and sports-related issues, as well as treating clients with vestibular, post-partum, neurological or lymphedema issues. Janet possesses a strong base of experience in orthopedic and sports injury treatment.

After being told to stop dancing by several doctors, Lori came to Pilates as a young dancer and swimmer in 1988 to rehabilitate a chronic hip injury. Over the next 2 decades of her dance career, she used Pilates to rehabilitate her back and knee injuries.

  • Obtained first Pilates certification from the Physical Mind Institute in 1998.
  • Continuing education since includes scoliosis, osteoporosis, gait, vestibular issues, disk issues, various other joint conditions, and golf.
  • 2009 Apprenticeship with master trainer Kathy Corey.
  • Currently a certifying instructor for Kathy Corey Pilates.
  • 1999 she came across GYROTONIC® and fell in love. Certified in every aspect of GYROTONIC®, level 2 Pulley Tower, Golf, Scoliosis, and is an approved pre-trainer of level 1 GYROTONIC®.
  • 2011, Lori added TRX® to the menu and she is finding it fun and extremely useful.

Christi graduated from De Anza College where she received her degree for studies as a Physical Therapy Assistant. While attending school, Christi interned with numerous organizations that served diverse populations of the community to teach, promote and encourage health and wellness. As an avid health advocate, she continued her studies and completed an over 600 hour program as a Comprehensive Certified Pilates instructor through Power Pilates. In 2011, Christi completed training as a certified Level Two TRX instructor. She focuses on establishing strong exercise principles for individuals to develop, progress and reach their desired personal goals.

TIP: Christi volunteers as a Land Steward and Trail Patrol for Santa Clara Open Space Authority. She can be found out on the trails on the weekends clearing out non-native plant species, planting native grasses or removing old fences.

"Embrace and love your body, it is the most amazing thing you will ever own."

Gina injured herself practicing Yoga years ago and suffered from two disc bulges. The bulges pressed on her sciatic nerve and caused pain all the way down her leg into her toes. Because of this experience, she understands what it is like to live with pain on a daily basis, and has a lot of compassion for those suffering from such situations. She is a strong advocate for these people and wants them all to get help to improve their current condition for the better. It is about progress not perfection.

V loves to teach people how to move with more grace, strength, efficiency and ease. To do this she draws from her background and training in Pilates, yoga, Qi Gong, ballet, and Feldenkrais. V also trains and helps athletes to improve their stamina and overall performance, and prevent injuries.

At PhysioFit, she often collaborates with the excellent physical therapists to devise a plan so clients can more quickly rehabilitate from injuries and illness. So they can better understand the connection between the mind, body and spirit, V teaches her clients breathing techniques and practical (functional) exercises they can use everyday to achieve their goals and live a more balanced, vibrant and fulfilling life.

She has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a Massage Therapist and a Physical Therapy Aide. A native of the Bay Area, Tracy joined the team at PhysioFit as it gave her the opportunity directly contribute to her local community. Tracy cares about our patients and works hard with the team to get them back to doing what they love. She's been a part of PhysioFit for so many years that both the staff and patients feel like a second family. In her spare time, Tracy brings the same spirit and love for physical well being to the Special Olympics.

Having majored in both sociology and kinesiology, Arturo is passionate about independence and is delighted to be a proponent of PhysioFit's values and aims to directly contribute and inspire people to be proactive about their health and wellness. Arturo is excited to be part of a team whose values and goals align towards the improvement of individuals' quality of life.

TIP: a) Arturo has had a shark encounter, b) Arturo is distantly related to George Takei (Sulu from Star Trek), and c) one of Arturo's arms is longer than the other. Which one is the lie?!

Sarah is never bored with life. She loves to create new experiences for her clients out of the multiple exercise modalities she herself personally experiences. As a Balanced Body University certified pilates instructor Sarah teaches mat, small apparatus, and reformer for individuals, small and large groups. She is also an AFAA certified Personal Trainer and can create individual fitness plans that center on pilates principles. She incorporates weight lifting and cardio techniques to maintain high quality and cutting edge pilates classes that are constantly evolving. If you are easily bored with workouts, Sarah's class may just be the remedy you need.

TIP:  Ask her how her first century bicycle ride led to a life changing decision.

Camila graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior as well as a minor in Italian. She is planning on applying to Physician Assistant graduate school in hopes of beginning in 2019. She has 2 years of past experience working in the physical therapy practice, and finds it very rewarding to witness the progress of each patient.

In her free time, Camila likes to catch up with friends, have movie marathons, DIY projects on Pinterest, try new recipes to cook or bake, do yoga, barre, or pilates.

TIP: Ask about my time abroad in Florence, Italy. Or the time I got bit by an ostrich in Colombia.
