This will help you to prevent and treat pelvic floor dysfunction. Strengthening your pelvic floor muscles may be one of the most important things you can do for your body.

  • Learn why women need to have zero tolerance regarding leakage with laughing, coughing, sneezing, lifting and exercise.
  • Learn how we can help you determine if the “Kegel” is beneficial and when it is detrimental to your health.
  • Learn how to ensure you are doing Kegel exercises correctly.
  • Learn why diaphragmatic breathing helps stabilize your deep core and back muscles with your pelvic floor.
  • Learn how gentle pelvic alignment is essential for pelvic health and can reduce chances of back and pelvic pain.
  • Learn why pain or discomfort with intercourse is common but not normal.
  • Intro to Pilates principles: core activation with connection to pelvic floor.

Kim Gladfelter, PT, MPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, is a physical therapist and owner of PhysioFit Physical Therapy & Wellness in Los Altos, CA. Kim's facility has a complete wellness center, offering classes in Pilates, Yoga, Gyrotonic® and TRX suspension training, as well as special clinical programs for women’s health. Kim works with people aged 30-65+ on a daily basis and is an expert Columnist who writes health articles for the Los Altos Town Crier newspaper, professional newsletters and blogs nationwide. She also reaches out to the local community, support groups, schools, libraries and sports centers to advise and educate on body awareness and exercise for back pain.
