13 hours a day on our bottoms, why not get Fit While You Sit?

Get Fit While You Sit!

You may not want to be sitting down to hear this: spending 13 hours a day seated, as 20 million of us do, can seriously endanger your health.

Women spend the equivalent of 74 days a year on their bottoms. Men are even worse — parked on their behinds for 78 days.

It’s not entirely our fault. We are working longer hours and far more people have sedentary jobs.

However, an inactive lifestyle causes backache, migraines and digestive problems, and has been linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes, some types of cancer and even early death.

Fortunately, it’s easy to counter some of the risks of excessive sitting and to keep supple and pain-free.

FIT WHILE YOU SIT workshop is highly recommended for seniors, people recovering from injury or anyone who would like to gain strength and confidence in standing and sitting exercises.

The entire workshop will be either seated in the chair or using the chair to balance.

We will work to improve comfort, posture, mobility, strength, coordination, and balance.
